Sound has always been more than a technical craft to me. It is one of the most powerful storytelling tools in cinema, capable of shaping emotion, guiding attention, and creating experiences that remain with audiences long after the screen goes dark. That belief is the foundation of everything I do through Engage Post Audio.

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television, concentrating in Sound for Cinema. My education provided a strong technical and creative foundation while reinforcing an approach to filmmaking that places story above technology. Since graduating, I have continued to develop my craft through collaborations with independent filmmakers, narrative films, documentaries, and commercial projects, always striving to create soundtracks that serve the story with clarity and purpose.

My approach to sound design and re-recording mixing is grounded in restraint, perception, and emotional meaning. Rather than drawing attention to itself, I believe sound should support narrative and shape audience perspective while creating space for empathy. Through the careful use of silence, dynamic contrast, spatial perspective, and intentional detail, I aim to build immersive soundtracks that feel natural, emotionally authentic and responsive to the unique needs of every project I work on.

Every project is completed in my professionally calibrated home studio designed for critical listening and accurate creative decision making. Working in a controlled monitoring environment allows me to deliver mixes that translate reliably across theatres, home systems, and streaming platforms while maintaining the integrity of each filmmaker's vision.

Beyond client work, I am passionate about strengthening the community of film sound professionals in Chicago. I founded the Chicago Sound for Cinema Alliance (CSCA) to bring together sound designers, dialogue editors, re-recording mixers, composers, production sound mixers, and filmmakers through networking, education and collaboration. I believe that sharing knowledge and building relationships is essential to the continued growth of both our craft and our creative community at large.

I am equally passionate about exploring new ways to think about sound. This curiosity has led to the development of Sound Report, a tabletop party game project designed to bridge the gap between how people describe sound and how sound professionals understand it all while having fun and interacting together. By creating accessible tools that encourage deeper listening and clearer communication, I hope to make conversations about sound more meaningful for filmmakers, students and enthusiasts alike.

Whether I am collaborating on a feature film, refining a short documentary, developing educational resources, or building community initiatives, my goal remains the same: to use sound intentionally in service of story. I believe the most effective soundtracks are not the loudest or most complex, but the ones that quietly deepen our connection to the people and stories on screen.
